Parametric Equations and Polar Coordinates

Some curves loop, twist, or double back. The usual cannot describe them without breaking the curve into pieces. In this chapter we go beyond and learn two new coordinate systems. They let us draw orbits, spirals, and conic sections as easily as a straight line.
