Model Evaluation and Selection

You’ve trained a machine learning model, and it does well on the data you used to teach it. But can it handle new situations it hasn’t seen before? That’s the big question we’ll answer in this chapter. We’ll learn how to measure a model’s real-world skill, compare different models fairly, and pick the one that will do the best job when it counts.
